COMMITTING MORE LAND AND WATER TO REWILDING

What are we doing to commit more land and water to rewilding?

We collaborate with a wide range of partners across different scales and settings to recover wildlife populations, and restore ecosystems to full health, function and completeness.

What changes do we want to see?

  • Rewilding principles shape and govern significantly more of Scotland’s land and seas.
  • More land managers and communities are supported in making rewilding happen, contributing to more effective ‘nature networks’.
  • More diverse income streams, including business investment, to establish rewilding as an economically viable land use.
  • More accessible financial incentives and simplified licensing mechanisms that support nature recovery.
