You have probably heard how rewilding tackles the HUGE challenges of climate breakdown and global nature loss. A nature-rich Scotland is also good for people.
In parts of Scotland, rewilding is already transforming landscapes. Young forests are on the march, enriching soils and shading rivers. Vast peatlands are being restored to lock away carbon and reduce flood risk to towns and villages. White-tailed eagles are soaring again in Scottish skies and beavers are rejuvenating our wetlands – such charismatic wildlife provides economic opportunities for local communities.
These stories show what is possible but there remains so much more to do.

- Support more land managers and communities to restore nature through our Northwoods Rewilding Network – a Scotland-wide chain of 80 land partners committed to nature recovery.
- Enable landscape-scale change through our Loch Abar Mòr nature restoration partnership, which covers more than 85,000 acres in the west of Scotland.
- Fund the return of missing native species, such as beavers and aspen, increasing biodiversity and improving ecosystem health.
- Help to influence public opinion about the return of lynx to Scotland.
- Inspire more business investment in rewilding, helping to fill the gap in funding needed for transformational change.
- Drive community support for rewilding through our films, stories, education and engagement events.

6% of our funds are spent on administration costs, ensuring we are efficient and accountable.
